This is the third and final episode of our his/her closet challenge. Sharing a basic builder grade closet is tough...if you're a guy who is like my guy, that is. His "side" is quite frankly less than a 1/4 of the space. What can I say? I am a closet hog and it was definitely time to trim the fat.
I cannot express how happy this room makes me feel. Before it was dark and cluttered. Now--happy dance--it's bright, soothing, and de-cluttered. Honestly, though, this would have turned out much differently if Hubby hadn't pitched in.
I'm not sure when I began to actually verbalize my master bedroom dream to Hubby. He's the kind of guy who is pretty darn content with the way things are. Each time I'd bring up an idea, he would poo-poo it. Tell me the room was fine...etc., etc. But you know, happy wife, happy life and all that. Poor guy.
So when I told him I wanted to buy four sheets of underlayment plywood for a plank wall, he raised his eyebrows, gave me the look... sighed, and said, "Okay".
n this five part master bedroom makeover, the challenge was to turn a cluttered dark bedroom into a welcoming peaceful retreat. I dreamed about a master suite that was light, spacious, and inviting. A space to relax. A place that was simple so that all thoughts and ideas could just sigh in relief.
I had this vision that one day I would have a beautiful master suite. Something grown-up...polished. A place where my mind sighed every time I entered. But with two mismatched dressers and very little spending money it seemed like my dream would never see the light of reality. But where there is imagination, Pinterest, and paint...anything is possible.
This post is all about the vision and planning for a complete transformation of my mobilicious master bedroom.
